The Flying Handbag has been a landmark in Blackpool’s Gay community for many years now. Sadly in 2006 the doors were closed on the old Talbot Road venue due to local council plans to reconstruct the town. However, nothing keeps a good queen down and as soon as it was confirmed that the old premises would have to close, ITP Leisure set about designing and building the brand new Flying Handbag, which you see today on Queen Street.

The only Purpose built, million pound, gay venue in the town The Flying Handbag opened its brand new shiny doors in early 2006 and is still going from strength to strength.
